Design & Planning in Laurie
In-house design, 3D visualization, material curation, and detailed construction documents that take the guesswork out of your remodel.
A Design That Looks Good in Photos and Lives Well at the Lake Are Not the Same Thing.
Laurie is a Morgan County lakefront community on the northern arm of the Lake — close to our Versailles headquarters, with a mix of year-round residents who want permanent-quality remodeling and vacation property owners who need finishes durable enough for rental turnover and beautiful enough for listing photography. Design at the Lake of the Ozarks has to account for things most design firms never consider: seasonal use patterns, lake humidity, materials that survive without constant maintenance, and the visual relationship between a home and its waterfront setting. We are an in-house design-build team — our designers and tradespeople work together from your first concept meeting. There is no design handoff, no translation error between what was drawn and what gets built. What you approve is what you get.

Design & Planning Projects Across Laurie & the Lake
Laurie Homeowners Get a Local Morgan County Team — Not a Resort-Strip Contractor With an Hour Drive Premium.
Laurie sits on the northern Lake arm in Morgan County — close enough to our Versailles headquarters that your project manager is always within 20 minutes. Year-round Morgan County residents in Laurie want remodeling that holds up through four full seasons: hard winters, humid summers, and the spring flooding that periodically affects low-lying properties near the marina strip. Vacation property owners in Laurie need finishes that hold up to rental turnover without requiring constant replacement. We've been building for both types of clients in this community for 25 years — with the same licensed in-house team, fixed-price proposals, and project management communication on every project. Lake design is about capturing views, managing light, orienting spaces toward the water, and choosing palettes that hold up in a high-UV, high-humidity, high-use environment. It also means understanding Ameren SMO setbacks, county building requirements, and the structural realities of hillside lots and lakefront terrain. Our in-house design team has been doing this specifically at the Lake of the Ozarks since 1996 — not adapting suburban design experience to a lake context.
- Laurie and northern Lake arm — Morgan County licensed, 20 minutes from our Versailles headquarters
- In-house design and construction integration — no gap between what is designed and what is built
- Lake-specific material and palette selection — beautiful in year one and still performing in year ten
- Ameren SMO, county setback, and shoreline regulation built into the first design concept
- 3D design and virtual walkthroughs so you see the outcome before anything is demolished

What Our Clients Say
"Our master bath looks like it belongs in a five-star resort. Marble, frameless glass, heated floors — and they finished early. We will use them for every project going forward."
"We hired them for a kitchen remodel and a new deck. The craftsmanship is on a different level. The project manager kept us informed every single day."
"Whole-home renovation done right. Single team, single contract, single point of contact. They re-engineered our flow and the result is stunning."
"From the first sketch to the final art-hang, everything was handled. We walked into a styled, finished home. Worth every dollar."

They worked around our homeowners professionally, stayed on schedule, and delivered results our board and residents are extremely proud of. Property values have improved noticeably."
"After a burst pipe flooded our lower level, we didn't know where to turn. Lake Ozarks Remodeling worked directly with our insurance adjuster, documented everything, and delivered a finished basement better than before the damage. They made a nightmare completely manageable."
"We've contracted them for a restaurant remodel and a commercial office build-out. Professional from day one. They understand how to work in active commercial spaces, keep disruption minimal, and deliver on schedule. Highly recommended for any business owner at the lake."
Common Questions, Honest Answers
Do you offer design-only services, or must I also use your construction team?
We specialize in integrated design-build delivery — our designers and construction team work as one. This eliminates the translation errors and cost surprises that separate design and construction arrangements create. We don't offer design-only services, but clients who initially consider that model typically find the integrated approach produces better results at lower total cost.
How does your design process work and how long does it take?
We begin with an in-home design consultation — typically 1–2 hours — where we capture your goals, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences. From there we develop concept designs, a finish board, and a 3D walkthrough for your approval. Most design phases run 3–6 weeks before we move into production drawings and permitting. The process is collaborative at every step.
Can you redesign and add onto an existing lake home?
Additions and whole-home renovations are a core part of our design practice. We work with the existing structure, integrate new and renovated spaces seamlessly, and handle all engineering, permitting, and construction from the same in-house team.
Do you serve Laurie and the northern Lake arm communities?
Yes — Laurie is a core service area within our Morgan County territory. All work is permitted through Morgan County, your project manager is within 20 minutes, and our crews are the same licensed team that has worked in this part of the Lake area since 1996. No drive premiums, no franchised dispatch, no guessing about who's actually showing up at your property.
What's the difference between year-round home remodeling versus vacation property work in Laurie?
Year-round Laurie homes are permanent-residence projects where durability, mechanical reliability, and long-term value are the priority. Vacation properties here are often focused on finish quality for rental appeal — materials that photograph well and survive guest turnover without constant maintenance. We design for both and are upfront about which specifications are appropriate for each use type from the beginning of the project.
